Breakfast and Afterschool Club

About Our Wraparound Care

We are delighted to be able to offer wrap around care with our breakfast and afterschool cub which offers excellent activities, facilities & staff. We pride ourselves on our wonderful activities that focus on learning through play.

The children look forward to coming as we provide a varied programme of activities, including a wide range of arts and crafts, sports and physical activities. There are computers and a pool table, as well as a cosy quiet area with TV and DVDs and much, much more.

We operate from three settings; the Foundation Stage children are based in the Illingworth Children’s Centre, the under eights are based in our breakfast and afterschool club building and the over eights are in the dining hall and ICT suite. This means activities and resources are age appropriate. Activities change weekly and coincide with events taking place throughout the year.

Each of the settings has fantastic outdoor play provision, which is used whenever possible. The children are collected from class at the end of the day by our staff and brought to our afterschool cub where they have the opportunity to choose the activities they would like to access. Children are collected from their parents in a morning and brought to breakfast club, and then taking to class for the start of the day to ensure a punctual start and any messages are passed on.

Any children staying after 4:30pm will receive a snack of a sausage roll, sandwich and crackers to sustain them until they are home.

The qualified staff in our wrap-around care work to provide quality after school care to the highest standard.

Our good relationships with other schools and outside agencies, enable us to work together and help our club extend and grow.

The staff  are a dedicated team of enthusiastic and caring playworkers with specific training in childcare. The team have worked together for a considerable period of time.

All staff are DBS checked and approved. Staff training is an ongoing process; First Aid, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, child protection, and behaviour management are continually updated.
